April 28, 2011. ITAS-TESS FTS LOT VII
ICE is awarded $9.5M contract by PEO STRI for 153 Improved Target Acquisition System - Tactical Engagement Simulation System Field Training System (ITAS-TESS FTS) to be delivered in 2012. At program completion, 525 units will be delivered to the US Army. The ITAS-TESS trainer is previously fielded to fifteen CONUS and three OCONUS US Army locations.
The ITAS-TESS FTS is a laser-based system that accurately replicates flight of the TOW missile system including fly-out in the gunner’s sight. This system is designed to conduct simulated weapons engagement during individual and collective force-on-force training missions using normal tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs). The Vehicle Area Network (VAN) removes cabling from the interior of the vehicle platform, reduces installation time and system assemblies, and provides increased flexibility with a wireless network.
KIOWA CASUP TESS
ICE is awarded $4.4M contract by PEO STRI to provide Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS) kits for the Kiowa Warrior (KW) Cockpit and Sensor Upgrade Program (CASUP) for the US Army, to include six systems by March 2015 with an option for two additional sets.
The KW CASUP live training system is interoperable with the existing Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement Systems (MILES) and Longbow Apache Tactical Engagement Simulation System (LBA TESS) Homestation instrumentation system. KW CASUP TESS simulates the offensive and vulnerability characteristics of the aircraft when operated with existing MILES during KW CASUP TESS Limited User Test (LUT) and Operational Test (OT).
KW CASUP TESS simulates Semi-Active Laser (SAL) Hellfire Missile, 2.75” Hydra rockets, and 50 caliber gun weapons engagements during live training. KW CASUP TESS is planned to support KW CASUP LUT and OT. The simulation data provided by KW CASUP TESS will be used to support the LUT/OT evaluations.
